Houston, USA – 13 January 2020 - Fairfield Geotechnologies has completed acquisition of C-Ranch/ Mud City multi-client 3D program in the Permian’s Central Basin Platform, West Texas. Expanding their leading position in the Permian basin, the 161 square mile program will add to Fairfield Geotechnologies’ 6,000 square miles multi-client coverage in the area.
The C-Ranch/Mud City multi-client survey was acquired using tight bin spacing and long-offset geometry to optimize coverage of both near and far offsets. The ultra-high fold, high-resolution data enables better handling of statics models for improved near surface characterization while providing adequate illumination of deeper unconventional targets. The survey was designed to properly illuminate shallow bypassed conventional targets as well as deep under-explored unconventional plays, from the Yates down to the Spraberry and Wolfcamp formations. C-Ranch/Mud City survey will be processed by Fairfield Geotechnologies, with final pre-stack time migrated deliverables expected by Q3 2020 and a full suite of AVO-compliant reservoir characterization products to be available before end of 2020.
Joe Dryer, President – Multi-Client and Geosciences, Fairfield Geotechnologies, said: “The C-Ranch/Mud City survey is an excellent addition to our multi-client portfolio, and it shows our commitment to continued investment in high-end technologies for the development of unconventional reservoirs. This survey represents the next generation of high-resolution onshore multi-client seismic in the United States. We expect this survey will give operators subsurface data with the resolution needed to support their appraisal and development plans in the Permian.”
